Sisters & Friends~

Our beautiful girls are so very lucky to have one another. Not only are they sisters, they really are best friends who enjoy spending time with one another.
They are so very different, but those differences really do compliment each other, making them the perfect pair!

This is a pretty layout dedicated to Sisters & Friends.
I have been wanting to craft with this oh so pretty chipboard frame from Creative Embellishments. So I finally sat down to create.
The patterned papers and embellishments are from the Save the Date collection by Teresa Collins.

I took the plain chipboard frame and first painted it using Americana Multi Surface Satin White paint. I wanted the frame to really sparkle, so while the paint was still wet I added a layer of Glamour Dust.
The Americana Paint and Glamour Dust glitter are both by DecoArt.

I used this 3D foam tape under multiple layers to create lots of dimension.
The sweet little white tags are from the Curtsey Boutique.

DecoArt is offering a great deal for US addresses!

Great Times With Friends~

The reason I scrapbook is to capture my memories of all the good times.
I cherish my family and friends, and my layouts posted today are dedicated to my fabulous friends.

The first layout is created using patterned papers from the Capture Life collection from Echo Park. The bright colours and funky patterns were perfect for these photos.

I created the title using a few different accent and letter stickers.

My second layout of this post features the sweet little face of Grady. Love this little man!
Lisa took this fantastic photo and I just couldn't wait to scrapbook it....but I waited until I found the right patterns. I used patterned paper from the Suave collection by Authentique.

Whenever I scrapbook winter photos, I like to play up the sparkle.

I used these great little banner letter stickers from Pink Paislee, for my Cozy Cutie title.

My second project is a simple Travel Journal.

I chose to scrapbook some more of my brother's trip to France with this collection.

My final layout is one I created using photos taken while geocaching in PEI.

Last but not least, a sweet and simple little card using some of the sweet coordinating embellishments.

Happy Tails~

Our furry family member is the feature of this blog post!
Her name is Kya, but she often gets "Poochie". This layout is created using patterned papers from the Happy Tails collection by Bo Bunny. How cute is that collection name?? The fun colours and patterned are perfect for any of man's best friends!

I added some brads and a metal tag embellishment to create the look of a dog collar border.

Sketchabilities Reveal #117~

Today is the day for another Sketchabilities Design Team Reveal!
I love creating, and I have had so much fun creating with all of these Sketchabilities sketches. This week's sketch is no exception.
Here is my layout created using a photo of my beautiful wedding bouquet.

I loved my bouquet so much. I created it using map rosettes, coffee filter roses and feathers made from sheet music. I had been waiting to scrapbook the photo of it, and everything just came together for the perfect layout to showcase the photo.

I used map flowers from the Curtsey Boutique, and patterned papers from the Save the Date Collection by Teresa Collins.

I used chipboard leaves from Creative Embellishments to accent my pretty map flowers. I painted the chipboard using white DecoArt Multi Surface paint, and then added a little shine using Gold Twinkle Writers, also from DecoArt. The sequins from Teresa Collins also adds a little sparkle.
The Save the Date collection by Teresa Collins is available at The Cutting Garden.

I used the same White Multi Surface paint to distress the cardstock in the background. I adore the texture of the patterns in this Teresa Collins collection.
I added this pink tag and black & white baker's twine from Curtsey Boutique.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out another Sketchabilities Design Team Reveal. Be sure to check out the Sketchabilities blog and see what all of the other talented designers came up with for this fabulous sketch.

Thank You Sydney~

Today I share a more personal blog post. I don't do this often, however we are about to start a new chapter in our lives and are leaving Sydney in just a few days. So this is a post dedicated to everything that we have loved and will miss about our Cape Breton home.
It's easy to say the beautiful Cape Breton landscapes or the easy going culture,
but these are the day to day things that we will truly miss.

First is our sweet and cozy little home. If we could take it with us we would.

Probably my favourite place, would be sitting on our front porch in the evening sun.

Our neighbourhood could not have been better with it's quiet, large tree lined streets.

Another favourite spot is the new Open Hearth Park here in the North End of Sydney.
We got the most use out of their off leash dog park.
This is Kya's favourite spot.

Another North End gem is Master Meats, our local butcher shop. Great prices and superb quality.

A diamond in the rough, is this Dollar Store in "the Pier". You could find all sorts of great little treasures here.

Fuzzy's Fries! This funky little chip wagon has a close second to my favourite place in Smiths Falls, Ontario....Tin Lizzy's.

Our usual grocery store. There is not a No Frills in the Truro area.

Music has been a huge part of our lives in Sydney. Sean and I have had so many great opportunities to play in our time here.
One of which was one of my lifetime musical highlights, playing in the pit band for Les Mis at the Savoy.

Other musicals that we have been involved with were Chicago (below), Oklaholma, Anything Goes, Annie, Oliver and My Fair Lady.

We also had the privilege of playing with the Cape Breton Orchestra.

Sean was the co-conductor and I played in the Second Wind Community Band. A friendly and hard working group of musicians.

Second Wind presented Sean and I with this beautiful Kenny Boone print as a Thank You and Farewell gift. We will forever cherish it.

I marched in a parade for the first time with Cape Breton Brass, a group that Sean had been a member of for a number of years. I will fully admit that I do not love marching, but so glad I was given the opportunity to try. I also met some pretty fabulous people and had some pretty fun evenings.

With music, always brings friendships. These are friendships that will last a lifetime. Whether you see each other weekly or once a year, our musical friendships are ones that I cherish and will stand the test of time.
Here are a few of our musical family.

Then last, but not least....my scrapbooking family.
These ladies never ceased to put a smile on my face every week!
We had Connie~ sweet and mothering (always forgets to ink that last thing, and never has a bag), Shelley~ thoughtful and funny (has an amazing collection of flowers)
Elena~ Super Mom, creative and loving (can come up with a page title for almost anything, and is the party planner)
Liz~ funny and a conversationalist (Liz is the one person that is louder than I am in the room and supplies us with numerous caching containers)
Linda~ sassy and hilarious (Linda is Liz's sister and I love watching them fight)
Nancy~ strong and the leader (I love Nancy's passion and strength. She adores her family)

Tanya~ crazy fun with a great sense of humour (Tanya is always the bad one at crops)
Janice~ Another Super Mom who has a very similar sense of humour to me...so she's hilarious.
(she has the largest collection of trimmers known to man and does not like Kahlua)

A huge Thank You to everyone who has been a part of our lives here in Sydney. I am sure our paths will cross again!
We really have met some truly amazing people.
