Sketchabilities Reveal #122~

It's reveal day at Sketchabilities!
The day where a new beautiful sketch is unveiled, and you get to see what all of the other talented designers have created with the same sketch.
So here is the the layout that I created with Sketch #122.

I chose to work with the Indian Summer Collection by We R Memory Keepers. I adore the colours in this collection! They worked perfectly with this sunset photo of Margaret in the beach.

I spy a beautiful grey tulle flower from Curtsey Boutique.
I also used some May Arts ribbon as leaves for the flower and to add texture under the die cut heart.

Rainbow Ribbon Photo Corner Tutorial~

Today I'm sharing a layout that I had created as a part of the Rainbow Ribbon challenge with May Arts Ribbon.
We were sent a variety of gorgeous, bright and cheery ribbon to work with. I wanted to create a scrapbook layout using the ribbon in different ways than maybe you are accustomed to seeing.

My tutorial today features the large photo corners I created for this layout. I used the 1.5" purple ribbon as the base of the photo corner.

I started with a piece of white cardstock that is 3"x3". I simple doubled the width of the ribbon itself.
I then scored diagonally from corner to corner of each of the pieces of cardstock.

You are then going to cut out one of the triangle sections using your scissors.

Then you are going to cover the entire section where you see the ribbon laying with double sided tape, and adhere the ribbon to the cardstock.
You are also going to trim off all of the overhanging ribbon.

Now you are going to fold on the scored lines, and adhere the back flaps together, forming the photo corner.
Now it's ready to be added to your layout or photo.

Here are a few more detail shots of my layout, where I used some more of the rainbow ribbons.

Scrap Plezier Card Challenge~

Today I'm sharing another project as Guest Designer for Scrap Plezier.
I was sent the challenge of a card sketch, so I took that and created this pretty card right away.

Here is the sketch that my card is based on.

Here is the card that I created using the sketch.
I used the Market Street collection from My Mind's Eye. I love this collection with it's hints of gold! I decided to play up the gold a little bit more by adding some beautiful Gold Mesh Ribbon from May Arts. I also added that oh so pretty Hand Dyed Doily from Curtsey Boutique.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop on by to Scrap Plezier to check out what else was created using this card sketch.

Sketchabilities Reveal #121~

It's reveal day at Sketchabilities, YAY!
As always I loved working with Karan's sketch, this time a fabulous 3 photo layout.
I decided to showcase these 3 beautiful photos taken of dear friends of mine by the very talented WonkyEye Photography.

I chose to work with the Market Street collection by My Mind's Eye. I love this rich, vibrant collection and the stunning hints of gold.

I really wanted to play up the hints of gold, so I added the very pretty gold mesh ribbon and the sequin gold heart from May Arts.

The flowers are from Prima, and the tags and baker's twine are from The Curtsey Boutique.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out this week's reveal. Are you looking for a little scrappy inspiration? Then, you too should play along with Sketchabilities! Be sure to check out what all of the other talented designers came up with while you're there!

Summer Lovin' Part Two~

Today I'm sharing part 2 of my July kit reveal for Down a Dirt Road Scrapbooking.
The July kit is made up of patterned paper and coordinating stickers from the Summer Lovin' collection by Carta Bella.

As I mentioned in my first reveal post, because the patterned paper had such a retro feel, I decided to use all vintage photos. By vintage, I mean from my childhood!
But this first layout in today's post is truly vintage. The photo is of my grandmother when she was young.

I added a few Curtsey Boutique accents. A hand dyed paper doily, the white polka dot embossed envelope and the red tag with bakers twine bow.

I loved these coordinating accent stickers, so I created a cute little banner using them.

My second layout features photos of my brother and I enjoying a warm summer's day in our turtle pool.

The red tag, white library card and baker's twine are from the Curtsey Boutique.

Summer Lovin' Part One~

July's kit from Down a Dirt Road Scrapbooking features patterned papers and stickers from Carta Bella's, Summer Lovin' Collection. This is a bright and fun collection perfect for so many summer adventures.
The collection and it's embellishments have a distinct retro feel and look to them, so I decided that for my ENTIRE reveal I would be using photos of a certain vintage. Most of which are from my own childhood and one even further back.

So without further adieu, here is the first half of my July kit reveal for Down a Dirt Road Scrapbooking.

I tried my hand at using Teresa Collins Modeling Paste on this layout. I used one of Teresa Collins' stencils to create my "Family" title.

I also incorporated some fun Curtsey Boutique embellishments. that included the Polka Dot Embossed Envelope, the coral Library Card and the Hand Dyed Doily.

My second layout features photos taken from the fair. Photos of my brother and I enjoying the Provincial Exhibition when I was 5.
It also features some Curtsey Boutique white Tickets.

I used my powder application tool from EK Success, to take the stick off of my stickers so that I could pop them up and create my dimensional border.

I also used White Multi Surface Paint from DecoArt for dry brush distressing around the entire layout.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a peek at the first half of my July reveal for Down a Dirt Road Scrapbooking!
