Wedded Bliss~

This weekend while attending and teaching at a FABULOUS crop hosted by The Cutting Garden in Port Hawksbury, I created this layout. The photo is of my soon to be Mother and Father-in-law. Bill and Maureen are two of the kindest people I have ever met and I loved creating this layout of them on their wedding day in 1966. Enjoy!

The patterned papers are by Kaisercraft from the After Five Collection
I used Perfect Pearls to outline the shaped background with dots.

Layout Love~

Well here is a layout I created this afternoon, and I can't even tell you how much I love it! From the adorable photo of Margaret, to the beautiful patterned papers from the Alla-Prima Collection by Prima Marketing. The teal doily I picked up yesterday at Michaels. So here it is in all it's cuteness!

What to do with ALL that cording?

Last week I acquired a box of random cord. I loved it! But I can't say I use it a whole lot as is on scrapbook projects. So on the LONG drive home to Cape Breton yesterday I came up with this idea. I made rosettes out of them but coiling the cord and adhering it to cardstock circles.
The small flowers are 1.5" and the large, almost 3". I thought they were pretty cute!

Cutting Garden Crop~Class Samples

This coming weekend, March 23-25, 2012. I will be attending and teaching at a crop in Port Hawksbury hosted by The Cutting Garden, a store located in Halifax.
I was at the store last week and created these 2 layouts, each for a class. One on Saturday and one Sunday. There is limited kits for each, so if you are interested in either or both, let Kim know.

Created using My Minds Eye papers

Ode to Lisa

I bake at least once a week for the sweet teeth of my loved ones. Today I made some scrumptious Scotch Cookies!! This is a recipe I got from Lisa, she would make them for cookie exchanges...yummmm.

Scotch Cookies:

1 3/4 Cup Flour
1 Cup Butter
1/3 Cup Icing Sugar

Put softened butter into the bowl and gradually add the flour and sugar mixture.
Roll into approximately 1 inch balls.
Place on un-greased cookie sheet. They don't spread much, so they can go close together. I use parchment paper for all of my baking.
Push down  creating a thumb print in each cookie.

Bake at 300 for 14-16 minutes.
I found 15 minutes was just perfect.

To add to the Ode of Lisa, a layout I recently did as a class here in Sydney with K&Company paper.

Destination~

This is a layout I created using the Destinations Collection from Simple Stories. It has a classic Tracy look to it, but take a closer look at some of the elements I added.

The ruffle around the entire border is created with paper bags. It is accordion folded over and over. Then I added tabs around a metal ring securing them with brads.

Lucky 7 Factory and the Sketchy Challenge~

I have started to try to participate in some Sketch Challenges lately to get myself out of "the box". Everyone gets in ruts with their styles from time to time. This is a great way to push yourself creatively!

So here is my version of Canadian Scrapbooker's Sketchy Challenge this month.
I created this layout using the In Retro Collection by Lucky 7 Factory, a company from Quebec. Yay for Canadian manufacturers!

The Fraumeni's with Simple Stories

This is a layout created using the 100 Days of Summer Collection from Simple Stories. I thought they looked great with the photos of the Fraumeni's!

To add some texture I added burlap and cotton twine to the layout.

Miss Margaret~

A simple but pretty layout I created yesterday.

I used multiple metal accents for this one including: a metal frame, metal letter charm, brads and decorative paperclips.
