Blast From the Past~

This is a layout that I created this afternoon. It's a double page, which often do...however I love the photos from 1997, and I wanted to use them all. The photos are of my friend Andrea and his family from Italy. I have been friends with Andrea for almost 25 years and I cherish that!

The paper and embellishments are from Simple Stories

Snow Day Inspiration~

Well, today in Cape Breton it is a Snow Day! Inspired by this, I created 2 snowy layouts to share. Both layouts are created using Bo Bunny Collections.

The ruffle around the photo and the white flower are created using white streamers. Oh the possibilities!

Lovely Louisbourg Ladies~

A layout I did this afternoon using the Times and Seasons Collection from Echo Park. The colors were perfect for the Fortress Louisbourg photo of the girls.

Glitz Design Layout~

This is a layout I created using Glitz Design patterned paper from the Dance in Sunshine Collection. Pretty papers with a spring color theme.
Now I am going to share a little tip of mine. You may have noticed that I like a shaped background from time to time. However, often the papers I adore do not come in a shaped pattern. So I do it myself! When I am shopping at my local scrapbook stores I keep an eye out for shapes that I like and do not have. I don't care what the pattern is, as I only use them for templates. So here are photos of the layout and them template I used.

The shaped pattern is by Bo Bunny, from their Ad Lib Collection.

Perfect Match~

While cruising around on Pinterest one evening, I came across a card that had matches on it. I took that "Perfect Match" idea a step further and added the actual match box to the card. I just wrapped the match box in pretty paper and added it to the card. Too cute!

XOXO

Kisses and Hugs for my dining room. Late last night I decided I wanted to create a cute little Valentine's Day banner for the dining room. Here is what I came up with.

I used a 1.5" circle punch, a large flower punch, and glitter letters by K&Company.

Shabby Shutters~ Sneak Peek:

I have been working on a class sample for Shabby Shutters in Antigonish. Here is a sneak peek at my work in progress.

Valentine's Goodies~

It is Margaret's last year in elementary school. So I thought I would step it up for Valentine's Day. Remember the days when you decorated a paper bag that had your name at the top, then it got filled with Valentines from friends and secret admirers? Well this year she will be giving away chocolatey goodness!

I took regular full size Hershey bars and simply covered them with scrapbook paper by Anna Griffin's Peyton Collection. Added a tag and some ribbon. Take note that all the corner rounding on the tags, as well at the dots on the letters were done by Sean :)

Look at those dots!!

Make Things in Your Life a Little Prettier~

On this chilly snowy evening I thought I would post some images from a couple of years ago. I was asked by a friend to paint her compost bin. To make it "pretty" and stand out from all the others lined up on the street side. So that I did. I started with a brand new never been used compost bin. I primed it, then painted it with acrylic paints. Then used a spray sealer to finish it off. Here are some photos of the finished product.
