May Arts Ribbon: Christmas Decoration Hop~

The May Arts Ribbon Ribbonistas are back with a little more Christmas inspiration!
This week we have crafted some Christmas Decorations.

I wanted to create something using the vintage locket that you can see at the top of my decoration.
So I decided to incorporate a few other charms hanging below it as well.
I have always been a fan of decorating in a vintage Christmas sort of theme, classic reds, greens and golds. I chose my ribbon accordingly, to keep with that vintage feel.

I used the Gold & White Baker's Twine to build the ornament, attaching each piece together. Then I added the other individual bows after.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll be getting a little crafty this holiday season too!

My Creative Scrapbook: November Sketch Reveal~

It's time for My Creative Scrapbook's monthly sketch reveal.
Each month they reveal a fabulous sketch to inspire you, and we play along and create with it as well.

So here is my interpretation of November's sketch using the Creative kit.

This is a great double photo sketch. I knew right away that I wanted to use these 2 photos I had recently taken at a corn maze in PEI.

The Creative kit featured so many great patterns and embellishments to work with.

Thanks so much for stopping by, try getting inspired with this sketch too for a chance to win a great prize!

Christmas Cards with May Arts Ribbon~

It is officially the Holiday Crafting season!
The Ribbon Resource, the May Arts Ribbon Retail Store is here to help and inspire you to create some great Christmas Crafts this season. We will be having a new blog hop every Friday until Christmas! With each blog hop comes your chance to win too!
Head over to the Ribbon Resource blog for your chance to win 2 spools of holiday ribbon.

So this first week of Christmas Crafting brings you Christmas Cards.
Something that you would need to create a little ahead of time so that you have the time to create, write and mail them!

I have 3 cards to share, all with easy ways to incorporate beautiful ribbon.

This first card is not done with your traditional holiday colours, but I think it's really striking.
I used the 1.5" Black Striped Grosgrain and tied a simple bow. Then I added the snowflake and circle stickers and the glitter "Noel" sticker.

These next 2 cards are a simple variation using the same stamped image from Darcie's Winter Woodland stamp set. Again I am using non traditional holiday colours. On the first card I created a simple layered border topped with the pretty 1/4" Teal Chevron Ribbon.
The second card features 1/4" Pink Chevron Ribbon and I added Pink Burlap String to the button.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to stop by the Ribbon Resource blog to see what some of the other Ribbonistas have come up for for your Christmas Card Crafting!

My Creative Scrapbook: November Reveal #3~

Today I am revealing the last of my creations using My Creative Scrapbook's November Main Kit.
My first project is an altered recipe box. I LOVE to bake and cook, and my recipe box often travels with me. It was looking a little ragged, so I thought I would give it a little bit of a makeover.

Main Kit:
Carta Bella- Fall Blessings patterned paper
Photo Play- patterned paper and sticker sheets
Ribbon
Simple Stories- We Are Family chipboard frames
Echo Park- The Story of Fall ephemera
Heidi Swapp- “Celebrate” wood veneer
Lindy's Stamp Gang- Moon Shadow Mist

I added some Liquid Pearls around the edge of the recipe box to give a little finishing touch.

This second layout features a photo that this sweet couple will have, and look back at to remember for the rest of their lives! It is definitely a reason to Celebrate!

I used a combination of the Lindy's Mist and some gold paint to colour the wood veneer word.

My third creation is a layout that showcases some of the most important things that I am "Thankful" for.

I hand wrote my title.
I used a combination of handwriting and letter stickers included in the kit to create all of my journal blocks.

What are you Thankful for?

Thanks so much for stopping by! There is so much to be Thankful for, be sure to cherish those things and maybe even create a layout dedicated to that!

My Creative Scrapbook: November Reveal #2~

Welcome to my second day of November reveals for My Creative Scrapbook.
Today I am showcasing 2 more layouts using the November Creative Kit.

My first layout has a little more of a mixed media feel to it. The kit included some fabulous Blue Fern chipboard which I ended up colouring using DecoArt Metallic Lustre in gold and copper. I also used metallic paints to distress the page.

Creative Kit:
Echo Park- The Story of Fall patterned paper and sticker sheets
Imaginisce- Give Thanks patterned paper and dimensional stickers
Ribbon
Echo Park- washi tape
Blue Fern Studios- Grid Pieces chipboard
Carta Bella- A Perfect Autumn chipboard stickers

I love all the bits and pieces included in this kit. So fun to work with. I did add some buttons though, I couldn't resist!

My second layout is more of a classic "Tracy" style layout.
I love how the title border worked out using the different sets of dimensional stickers.
Autumn is my favourite time of year for so many reasons. This photo just makes me smile, memories of a fabulous 2015 Thanksgiving weekend.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for more November reveals!

Craft Lightning: 15 Minute Christmas Craft~

So excited to be back and crafting along with the Craft Lightning crew!
A huge thank you to the Country Chic Cottage, 30 Minute Crafts and Aunt Peaches for hosting this fabulous crafting event.

Craft Lightning is meant to bring inspiration for all the busy crafters out there. People that may just have a few minutes to dedicate to crafting here and there. We are showcasing projects that would take no longer than 15 minutes to create, excluding drying time for those items that require paint or otherwise.

Here is my quick and easy Christmas craft.
My double sided photo frame ornament.

Project Recipe:

2 Wood Veneer Frames
Metal Charm
Overalls Clasp
Patterned Paper
Hot Glue

The overalls clasp makes a great ornament hanger!

Using the 2 frames, makes it possible to have a different photo on either side of your frame. Or perhaps a written sentiment  on one side for the person you craft the ornament for.

Thank you so very much for stopping by and be sure to make even a little bit of time to get crafty this holiday season!
