Sketchabilities Reveal #132~

Today I have another fabulous Sketch from Sketchabilities to reveal, and my take on it!
When you get in a little bit of winter scrapbooking funk, try getting out a great sketch to get you going!

I created my layout using patterned papers from the Suave Collection by Authentique.

My title is created from letter stickers by Pink Paislee, JilliBean Soup and Fancy Pants.

I also added lots of texture with flowers from Prima, enamel dots, wood veneer border and a mini film strip from Tim Holtz.

A Valentine's Blog Hop with May Arts Ribbon~

Today the May Arts Ribbon, Ribbonista's band together to showcase some Valentine's Day ideas. Stop by the May Arts Ribbon blog for links to all of the design team inspiration.

Valentine's Day doesn't have to be just for lovers anymore. Send a sweet greeting to a close friend, your mother or sibling, or even a co-worker who could use a little love. Craft, create and share this Valentine's Day!

The base of my card is created with just basic cardstock.
I then added the strips of Adhesive Velvet Ric Rac. At the top of this I added a single piece of 1.5" Red Tulle, which I knotted and adhered in the back of the card.

I added some My Mind's Eye patterned papers to my Curtsey Boutique small heart doily. Voila...a sweet and simple Valentine that is full of texture and shine.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my Valentine, and be sure to hop along with some of the other May Arts Ribbon, Ribbonistas!

You Brighten My Day~

Just a pretty little layout that I created using a photo of Sean & I from the summer.
An evening at a beach we call the "Dog Beach" where Kya can run and play off leash in Stratford, PEI. A perfect place to watch the sun set over Charlottetown.

The green chevron ribbon is from May Arts.

The dyed doilies, mini white shipping tags and baker's twine are from the Curtsey Boutique.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dr. Seuss Craft Lightning~

We are so excited to be back creating together for this Dr. Seuss inspired Craft Lightning.
A huge thank you to The Country Chic Cottage and 30 Minute Crafts for including me once again!
What is Craft Lightning, you may ask?
Craft Lightning is a series of crafts created to take 15 minutes or less to create. Great for those moments where you have just a little bit of free time in your schedule to craft.

My creation is one that I would have LOVED to do as a child, heck....I loved doing it now.
Here is my Dr. Seuss inspired Wooden Spoon Crazy Animal!

All you need is an unused wooden spoon, a little Deco Art paint, and lots of little bits of crafty goodness.
I used some bright and fun May Arts Ribbon, some buttons, brads and feathers.
Whatever your imagination can come up with!!

I just think this little guy turned out SO cute!
Thanks for stopping by for our Dr. Seuss inspired Craft Lightning.

Sketchabilities #131 Reveal~

It's an exciting Reveal Day for Sketchabilities! This reveal we are teaming up with another challenge blog called White With 1. They challenge their crafters to create their projects using just that, only white with one other colour.

We were up for that challenge, combined with a fabulous Sketchabilities Sketch.
Our colour challenge was to use only white and the colour Placid Blue, pictured below.

I will admit, this was a bit of a struggle for me, as most blues are not in my usual crafting wheelhouse. But that was nothing a trip to The Cutting Garden to shop wouldn't fix. Here is my creation.

Here is the sketch that we all started with, lots of little details to be inspired by.

Turns out, after picking up the papers and ribbon from The Cutting Garden, I happened to have lots of the perfect coloured flowers and buttons on hand.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out this joint reveal for Sketchabilities and White With 1! Be sure to take one or both challenges yourself!

Paper Crafter's Library: Guest Designer~

I was so thrilled to have the chance to be a Guest Designer at Paper Crafter's Library on behalf of May Arts Ribbon. I chose to go with a holiday theme, the timing was perfect.
I wanted to work with a very festive photo. I wasn't inspired by anything that I had on  hand myself, so I started to think about my friend's holiday photos....this photo came to mind right away.
This is my crafty friend Amanda's sweet rescue pooch, in his portrait with Santa.
I just thought it was THE sweetest photo!
I asked if I could use the photo to create an upcoming project, and she said YES! The rest is history and here is the layout that I created, and will soon reside with Amanda.

To see all of the details of my layout, be sure to stop by Paper Crafter's Library.

Lots of beautiful May Arts Ribbon, for every festive project you could imagine!

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my Guest Designer creation.
