14 Days of Love: Day 1 Valentine Recap~

Today I share some of the Valentine crafts that I have created in past years. I thought this would be a good way to get my 14 Days of Love posts started. I've said it before and I will say it again, Valentine's Day isn't just for lovers. It can be to celebrate all that you love in life. Family, friends, children or parents...tell someone that you love them this Valentine's Day.

Each project title is linked to it's original post if you would like to learn more about creating them.

Filled with date night ideas from those who attended our wedding.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you stop by to see the rest of my 14 Days of Love creations!

The Pooch Done in Clay~

I have loved creating with Sculpey clay. This is another of my creations.
I challenged myself by trying to create our crazy pooch Kya.

To get the look of her wiry black and silver fur, I twisted black and silver clay over and over again.

Project Recipe:
Sculpey Premo Clay- black, silver, blue, brown, red and gold
Scupley Project Mat
Sculpey Essential Tools Kit

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my pooch created in clay.

Hello Scrapbook Layout~

I must admit, I don't normally like to play favourites, but this is one of my favourite layouts that I have created recently. It could be that adorable little face, or maybe the fun bright colours of the JilliBean Soup, Cold Avocado Soup Collection. Either way, I think it's a pretty cute layout dedicated to this pretty cute little man.

The buttons are of course from Buttons Galore & More.

Thanks for stopping by to say Hello!

An Upcoming Class at the Garden~

This is a simple layout share to announce an upcoming class at The Cutting Garden.
I will be teaching this class at the Shop and Crop at the store on March 8th. The crop at this point is Sold Out, but you could always try to get yourself on a waiting list. So if you are attending the crop and are interested in taking the class, be sure to contact Kim at The Cutting Garden to register.

The patterned papers are all from a 6x6 My Mind's Eye paper pad.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the other classes and crops Kim has planned at the Cutting Garden this Winter and Spring!

A Kitchen Themed Gift~

Today I am sharing a Kitchen Themed Gift that I created.
This is something that would make a great addition to a gift basket of kitchen themed goodies.

I started with blank index cards. Then I simply added a strip of washi tape at the bottom to dress it up. I added some simple hand written text at the top and I was finished.

At this point I had already found the perfect oven mitts, so now it was time to make the plain wooden spoons, match the oven mitts.
I also found another great use for washi tape, paint line masking. Washi tape has very similar adhesive properties to masking tape or painters tape. So I taped off lines on all of the spoons and started painting.

I used Americana Multi Surface Satin paint, in Pink Cadillac.
By painting these spoons, and letting the paint cure for 4 days, makes the paint multi surface safe. I would probably still hand wash.

Then put these simple items together and you get a pretty and simple kitchen themed gift.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you get a little crafty the next time you need a gift for someone special.

Patterns Make the Difference~

This post contains 2 pages that I have recently created. I liked the layout design so much that I decided to use it again and create a second layout with different patterns.
Using the same layout, but just switching out the patterns makes such a difference.

The first layout is created using the Fancy Pants Collection called Away We Go.

The second layout is created using the He Said, She Said Collection by Teresa Collins.

Both collections are available at The Cutting Garden.

A Christmas Layout~

There is so much that I adore about this layout. The photo to start with, of our sweet pooch in her Christmas cocktail dress from Target. The patterned papers and embellishments are from a kit that I get monthly from ScrapShotz.

There is something about getting a box in the mail every month, I choose not to peek at whats coming online either. I like the surprise. Plus it forces you to use product that you wouldn't necessarily use. This kit arrived just before we left for the holidays, so I brought it along with me, in case I felt like getting a little crafty. I loved the patterns so much, of course I got crafty on vacation!

The patterned papers and embellishments from the kit come from SEI, Noel Collection.

The buttons I used came from Buttons Galore & More.

If you are interested in kits from ScrapShotz, be sure to check them out. Added bonus is that you will be able to create along with me with each kit. Be sure to tell them that Tracy sent you!
Thank you so much for stopping by.

A Christmas Double~

This is a recent layout I created for a class here in Sydney.
As requested a double layout for all their holiday photos.

I don't often create double layouts, as I don't often take photos that need to be showcased as a series. But in this case, these photos of a Christmas visit with friends worked out perfectly.

This layout was created using a Christmas My Minds Eye Collection and buttons from Buttons Galore & More.

Thanks for stopping by to check out this quick double layout post!

Sketchabilities Warm-Up~

As some of you may already know, I have been chosen to be a part of the very talented design team at Sketchabilities, a premier challenge blog that I have been playing along with for some time. I love a good sketch to get the creative juices flowing.
My term with Sketchabilities doesn't actually start until February, so I thought I would play along with this one as a warm-up. Although, I probably would have played along whether I was chosen or not.

Here is the layout that I created:

To create my layout I used embellishments from the Cold Avocado Soup Collection from JilliBean Soup. I love how they name all of their collections after soup.
The buttons are from the Nautical Value Pack by Buttons Galore & More.
The bling is from Want 2 Scrap.

The photo is one that my brother took while he and Megan were on vacation in France. The photo was taken moments after they had gotten engaged!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you will be sure to check out my future posts on behalf of Sketchabilities and play along!

Well Played January Reveal #2~

Welcome to the second reveal for Down A Dirt Road Scrapbooking.
The January kit features patterned papers and embellishments from the Carta Bella Collection, Well Played. I found the collection to be fun to work with rich and vibrant colours.

The letter stickers are by Thickers and EK Success.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hoping that you will get the time in this New Year to get a little crafty too!

14 Days of Love: Day 3 Kissable Valentine~

I thought I would showcase this quick and easy gift idea for that special someone on Valentine's Day, for this Valentine's Day edition of Craft Lightning.
All the crafts shown through this Craft Lightning hop take 15 minutes or less to create. Thank you again to The Country Chic Cottage and 30 Minute Crafts for inviting me to create along with them.

I am a huge fan of crafts in jars these days, such a cute way to present a home made gift.
My gift is for that special someone on Valentine's Day, your Kissable Valentine.

The tag was quick and easy to create using patterned papers from Imaginisce. The buttons are from Buttons Galore & More, and the glitter sticker is from K&Company.
The perfect ribbon for the project comes from May Arts.

Inside the jar is everything a Kissable Valentine should need. Mouthwash, lip balm, some minty gum and of course some candy.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope this inspires you to create something for your Kissable Valentine this Valentine's Day.
